A horseback ride out of Taoes Pueblo with a Zuni shaman was the inspiration for this piece along with a variation on an ancient Bhim Palasie melody by Imrat Khan for the A section. - TM

The first melody is a variation on an ancient theme given to me by guru-ji Imrat Khan from Raag Bhim Palsaie. The second melody I wrote as a contrast to Bhim Palasie and I used Raag Yamin Kalyan for this section. The harmonic structure of the tunes and melodies are true the the raag forms keeping a very traditional structural while still allowing soloist to move outside the form and still keep the raga sound. I really love the solo interplay with Tom Scott and myself while Vinnie and the band held a great groove. - TM
